Marvin Allmon, 87, died peacefully at his Grove City home, on Saturday, May 2nd, surrounded by his loving family.
Marvin was born on July 24th, 1938, to George and Donna Allmon in Columbus, Ohio.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Judy; his children Jeff (Sara) Allmon, Cheryl (Dave) Harmon, Kevin (Jackie) Jenkins and Paul (Pam) Allmon. He was a proud and influential grandpa to Brandon (Krystal) Allmon, Jessica (Paul) Landon, Bradley (Katy) Allmon, Emily (Zach) Thompson, Caelan (Amanda) Allmon, Connor Allmon, Alison Allmon, Tyler Allmon, and Taylor (David) Miller. He is also survived by his numerous great grandchildren, Rylee (Christian) Estep, Brandon Lee ( "Choo Choo" ) Allmon, Aiden Allmon, Taylor Landon, Lindsey Landon, Amelia Allmon, Kynnedie Allmon, Bryson Allmon, Logan Miller, Cole Thompson, Anakin Allmon, Kol Allmon, and great-great granddaughter, Maxine Estep. He is survived by his brother William (Martha) Allmon along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his father, George Allmon; mother, Donna Allmon; and twin sister, Maxine Allmon.
Marvin graduated from Grove City High School in 1957 and began serving his country in the Army later that year. Afterwards, he worked for DeLille Oxygen of Columbus for 38 years.
Known as the proverbial “guy who never met a stranger”, he stayed very active in the community by coaching and umpiring youth sports, filming competitions and sporting events for the Grove City High School, alongside his wife, Judy, as well as being a leading member of the Grove City Lions Club. His biggest joy as he got older was hunting and enjoying the outdoors.
The highlight of his later years was being able to take the Honor Flight along with other veterans to Washington, D.C. in September of 2021.
The family would like to thank the amazing nurses and staff from Hospice and the V.A. that made his final months at home possible.
Family and friends are encouraged to pay their respects at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio, 43123. Visitation services will be held on Thursday, May 7th, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A visitation from 9:00AM to 10:00AM will be before the funeral service on Friday May 8th, at 10:00AM. Marvin will receive military honors before being laid to rest at Grove City Cemetery East 3605 Grove City Road, at 11:00AM.

Marvin will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
