Mary Angela Amidon passed away peacefully on June 24, 2015, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Grove City, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 22, 1929, in Columbus, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Bruno and Margaret Mollica; husband, Martin V. Amidon VII; son, Martin V. Amidon VIII; daughter, Anita Walsh and grandson, Michael Walsh.
She is survived by her sisters; Catherine Zamarelli and Anna Rose Mollica Kunzen; brothers, Patrick (Norma) Mollica, Anthony Mollica and Joseph (Linda) Mollica; grandsons, Martin V. (Victoria) Amidon IX, Daniel Amidon and Yodchai Amidon; great-grandchild, Martin V. Amidon X and numerous nieces and nephews.
She attended St. Dominic Grade School and Holy Family High School class of 1946. Mary lived in Germany and Japan while her husband served his country in the Army. Mary retired from the payroll department of Putnam County Hospital in New York then served as a teacher's aid for 10 years in the Brewster N.Y, County Public School System. For many years, Mary and her husband hosted underprivileged children in their home from the "Fresh Air" program for the summer. She attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Grove City and over the years, she was an active member of the Bereavement Committee, Saintly Stitchers and the Parish Women's Association.
As per Mary's wishes, there will be no visitation.
