Mary Ann Buckles, 71, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025 surrounded by family and friends. Born on November 22, 1954, in Nampa, Idaho, she was the oldest daughter of Clay and Jewell Buckles.
Mary Ann was known for her deep faith, kindness, personal strength, and devotion to her family—especially to her beloved son, Ron. She found great joy in her work as an elementary school teacher, touching the lives of countless students.
A person of deep faith, Mary Ann trusted God throughout her life and found strength and hope in her relationship with Jesus. She believed firmly in the promise of eternal life and looked forward to heaven with peace and assurance.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, Ron Buckles; siblings, Tom Buckles (Carol), Beverly Buckles, and Patricia Shepherd (Rick); and beloved nephews and nieces, including Joseph Buckles (Jan, and great-niece Kai), Amy Wilson (Darren, and great-nephews Gavin and Graham), and Michael Buckles (Molly, and great-nephew Brandon). Mary Ann had several cousins who regarded her as a sister, including Don and Marian Paul; Lynn and Terry Jenson; and Judy Helton. She is survived by many other close family members, friends, and colleagues, too numerous to mention. She is preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Bobby Buckles.
Mary Ann’s life was one of genuine and unwavering kindness toward others. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held on December 29, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Worthington Seventh-day Adventist Church, 385 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Worthington, OH 43085.
