Mary J. Gearheart (Buchanan), age 89, was called home to be with the Lord on July 1, 2017. Born on September 6, 1927 in Columbus, OH.
She was devoted to her family, a member and Sunday School teacher of Westside Baptist Church. Mary was a very talented artist. Her hobbies included ceramics, crocheting, bowling and writing poetry.
Preceded in death by her father William L. Buchanan; mother Freda V. Emswiler; step-father Gordan R. Emswiler; husband John H. Gearheart Sr.; sons John H. Gearheart Jr. and William L. Gearheart.
Survived by son Ron (Kimberly) E. Gearheart Sr.; daughters Theresa A. Minnehan and Julie (Greg) M. Smith; grandchildren Trenia, Lisa, Tammy, Art Jr., Jeff, John, Cerise, Angela, Joe, Nannette, Ronnie, Tiffany, Brittany, Brandon, Eddie, Nick, Sara, Haley, and Chase; 37 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law James and Judy Gearheart; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Candace Sanchez, HHA; Hospice Team and Kobacker House. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in Mary's memory to the Kobacker House.
Pastor Arthur W. Minnehan Jr. to officiate at the graveside service on Thursday July 13, 2017 at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W Broad St, Galloway, OH 43119, at 11:30am.
