Mary Catherine (Gillespie) Gibson, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. She was born on May 30, 1934 in Boston, MA to the late James and Bridget Gillespie.
Mary was an extremely active volunteer, gardener, artist, political activist, and animal lover, as well as a very dedicated grandmother, enjoying time with her grandchildren at their concerts, school activities, and sporting events.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David Gibson; siblings, Eleanor Leonard, Cecelia Gillespie, James Gillespie, Edward Gillespie and John Gillespie.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Bridget (Joseph) Richardson and Elizabeth (Joel) Heighway; grandchildren, Nico, David, Emma, Grace and Samuel; many beloved nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and who showered her with attention.
The family will receive friends from 4-6pm, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, N.E. Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Columbus, OH 43231 where the memorial service will be held following at 6:00pm.
