Mary Alice Goings

Mary Alice Goings, a beloved member of the Grove City community and former co-owner of Josiah's Restaurant, passed away on December 3, 2025, at the age of 75. She departed this life peacefully in Orient, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her.

Born on May 30, 1950, Mary Alice was known for her adventurous spirit, having traveled extensively throughout her life to beautiful destinations including Germany and Hawaii. Her passions extended beyond exploring new places; she had a deep appreciation for music, baking, and cooking, which she utilized to care for others. Mary Alice was known for her generous heart and loved nothing more than spoiling her family and friends.

She is survived by her treasured dog, Gibbs, who brought her much joy. Mary Alice leaves behind her cherished siblings: Delores "Dottie" (Ken) Snyder, Elaine (Rick) Jacks, Paul (Kitty) Goings, Stephen (Starla) Goings, and Ed (Julie) Goings. Her vibrant family includes many nieces and nephews who fondly remember her warmth: Ken Jr. (Danetta) Snyder, Brian (Teri) Snyder, Kristie (Scott) Malott, Craig Snyder, Jenn (Chris) Snabry, Kari (Todd) Zerman, Michelle Brantley, Paul Goings II, Allison (Steve) Wirth, Stephanie (Anthony) Rhen, Nick (Courtney) Livermore, Jaris (Val) Goings, Erin Michelson, Brandon (Stacy) Goings, and Ryan Goings. Additionally, she is survived by a host of great-nieces and nephews: Tabbitha, Courtland, Parker, Kierstin, Josiah Snyder, Bode (Haelynn) Malott, Braxton Malott, Lexy Turner, Caleb Zerman, Jacob Brantley, Chase Goings, Colin Goings, Jaris Goings Jr., Karter Goings, Brantlee Goings, Lakken Goings, Miika Michelson, Mirra Michelson, Allie Goings, and Aiden Goings, as well as her great-great-nephews Stetson Malott, Sutton Malott, and Sebastian West. Her family also includes many extended relatives who remember her fondly.

Mary Alice was preceded in death by her father Fred Edward Goings, her mother Ramona (Goings, Maddox) Thomas, and her sister JoAnn (Goings) Brantley.

A visitation in her honor will be held on December 9, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 5:00 PM, all taking place at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest in Grove City, Ohio.

Mary Alice Goings will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit and love will resonate in the hearts of her family and friends for years to come.
