Mary K Mcafoose

Mary K. McAfoose, age 80, passed peacefully at home with family by her side on July 4, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley in 2000 and her daughter Shirley in 2009.
Mary is survived by her children Kathryn (Ron) Kirkpatrick, and Marvin (Karen) McAfoose; grandchildren Mitchell (Stacy) McAfoose, Tyler (Nikki) McAfoose, Lindsey (Tim) Belcher, and Brady Kirkpatrick; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Married to Wesley McAfoose on June 30, 1950. Retired seamstress and homemaker; Employed as a seamstress at Cliff's Cleaners/Wheaton & Sons Cleaners in Mercer, PA for 12 years and later was self-employed as a seamstress working from her home and retired in 1987. Grateful recipient of a liver transplant in 1992. Many years of Community Service: Active Girl Scout leader and helped her husband with his Boy Scout troop; Organized Sunday worship experiences for the residents of Polk State School with the help of many local congregations; Volunteer seamstress for senior residents of the Shenango Home; Past Matron of Mercer Eastern Star #180; Jackson Grange Program Chairperson; Past president of Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care Auxillary; Youth Leader and Sunday School teacher at Jackson Center Presbyterian Church
Church: current member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church; previously long-term member of Jackson Center Presbyterian Church
A memorial service will be held on July 16, 2017 at 1:30pm at Friendship Village of Dublin, Kinsale Room, 6000 Riverside Drive, Dublin, OH. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to be made in Mary's memory to Lifeline of Ohio, Attn: contributions, 770 Kinnear Rd., Columbus, OH 43212, or Ohio Health Hospice, https://foundation.ohiohealth.com/programs/hospice-giving.
