Mary Alice Pharis, 86, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 in Columbus, OH. Mary was born on October 22, 1932 in Salyersville, KY to the late Warren and Mary (James) Blanton.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Pharis.
She is survived by her son, Stuart D. Pharis; daughter, Sandra Kay Pharis; grandchildren, Josiah and Zachary Pharis.
Mary was retired from The Ohio State University after 40 years of service. She liked to travel and spend time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
Family will receive friends on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 3 to 7 pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43231. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 9:30 am also at Newcomer NE Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City, OH.
Donations may be made in Mary's honor to the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research.
