Mary Jean Reed, 80, of Westerville, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Forest Hills Center.
She was born August 29, 1932 in Dearborn, Michigan.
Jean is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, William "Bill" Reed; daughter, Kelly (Charles) Collins; granddaughter, Kara Collins; sisters-in-law, Bernice Krietzman, Geneva (James) Adams, Mary Salisbury and Nira (John) Howell.
She was a 1950 graduate and valedictorian of Greene Local High School and also attended Otterbein University.
Jean was formerly employed by State Automobile Insurance and Sears Roebuck and Co.
She retired from Riverside Methodist Hospital in 2002 after 22 years of service.
Jean enjoyed square dancing, traveling and attending her granddaughter's many activities.
She was a regular attender of Grace Polaris Church.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 4:00-7:30 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 7:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Forest Hills Center, 2841 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, OH 43231.
