Matthew is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Prince Allen; Mother, Nyawo Gbondobye, and Grandmother, Nancy Kondoh Gbondobye.

Matthew is survived by his wife, Mrs Octavia Allen of Columbus, OH. Children: Mrs Pagie Sullay Sesay of Columbus OH, Mathew Allen Jr in Sierra Leone, and Sia Joya Bendu of Columbus OH.
