Matthew Evan Keith, 42, of Cleveland, passed away February 16, 2012 in Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Yasuko; mother, Nancy; brothers, George, Andrew, William, Thomas, and Theodore. Matthew earned a BA in Asian Studies and an MA in Japanese History from Bowling Green State University, an MA in Medieval Japanese History from the University of Saitama, Japan and a Ph.D. in Early Modern Western, Japanese, and Military History from Ohio State University. He endured decades of complications from a broken neck. A private service will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus. Matthew was a loving husband, son, and brother who will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.
