Maurice Cannon Jr was born June 18,1970 in Columbus Ohio to the late Willa M Cannon and late Maurice E Cannon SR. Maurice was their only son and attended Westerville city schools.

Maurice was a man of many talents, with countless dreams and goals for his future gifted with his hands he could build or fix just about anything he set his mind to. He carried a wealth of knowledge on many subjects, and was always willing to share what he knew with others. One of his dreams was to one day build on his grandfather‘s land creating something meaningful for his family and future generations. Maurice built a career around his love for driving trucks from operating dump trucks to traveling the open road as an over the road truck driver he was hard-working, determined, and took pride in providing for those he loved. Maurice loved his family deeply. The love he gave the memories he created, and the impact he made on those closest to him will forever remain in their hearts.

In 2025, Maurice was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Through every difficult day, every setback and every challenge, he refused to let cancer define him. Maurice never gave up- he fought courageously until the very end surrounded by the love of his family until he was called home on September 10, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his mother Willa and father Maurice Sr, many uncles including Ambrose, Max, Timothy, Jeffery, Freeman, and Sparky Howell. His grandparents Elder and Mrs Clyde Howell and Hattie Booker.
