Melonlee Joy Lewis

Melonlee Joy Lewis, born on August 14, 1954 in Chillicothe, Ohio, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2026. She will be warmly remembered for her lifelong dedication to her family, community, and career.

Melonlee was a graduate of West High School in Columbus, Ohio, class of 1972. She devoted over 30 years working at Huntington National Bank, where she made many meaningful contributions through her commitment and hard work.

A lifetime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Melonlee was treasured by her church family. She was a long-time member of the bell choir, sharing her musical talents and bringing joy to many. Her faith and involvement in the church were very important parts of her life.

Outside of her career and church activities, Melonlee enjoyed spending quality time with her loved ones. Sailing with her husband was a cherished pastime, as was watching Ohio State football games. Her love for her family was evident in every moment she shared with them.

Melonlee is survived by her children, Christy (Jamie) Lewis and Christopher Lewis. She was a proud grandmother to Audrey Lewis (Nate), Ashlyn Lewis, as well as Brylee and Braylynn Brewer. She also leaves behind her great-granddaughter, Celeste Buck. Melonlee’s siblings, Melinda (Daniel) Stickler, Marla (Michael) Betz, and Daryl (Melissa) Minney, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins, carry forward her loving memory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Skip" E. Lewis, and her parents, Donald and Jean Minney.

Family, friends, and all who knew Melonlee are invited to honor her life at the following services. A visitation will be held on April 10, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway in Grove City, Ohio. The following day, April 11, there will be a viewing at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 2480 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM.

Melonlee Joy Lewis’s gentle spirit, dedication, and kindness touched many hearts. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
