Michael Scott Burgy, born on May 4, 1969, peacefully passed away on February 22, 2026. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, remembered for his lively spirit and unique sense of humor.
Michael was an enthusiastic member of the Westland High School ROTC and carried that dedication into his adult life. Michael had a fulfilling career at Arnet Technology. His coworkers became like family to him and they recently celebrated his 15th anniversary with the company. He truly valued the bonds he formed there.
His passion extended into various hobbies, where he found joy in enjoying a good cigar, sipping bourbon, and engaging in target shooting and going to gun shows with his family. Michael was known for his dark sense of humor, often captivating those around him with his sarcasm and wit.
In times of difficulty, Michael was supported by his beloved family. His niece, Michelle Williams, an RN, was his advocate in the hospital, providing invaluable assistance both physically and emotionally throughout his health challenges for an intense 15 weeks. His sister, Diana Donohoe, stood by him every day except for three, offering unwavering support during this period.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Dana Voss-Burgy; his sons, Julian and Jaden; and his sisters, Deb Burgy, Diana (Rob) Donohoe, Candy Albright, and Cindy (Bill) Brigner. He also leaves behind nieces, Tina (John) Beard; Michelle (Tommy) Williams, Angie (John) Gegner, Sarah (Anthony) Coram, and DJ Brigner; and nephew Marcus (Terra) Donohoe. Additionally, he is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends who will remember him fondly.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Hazel Burgy, and his first wife, Robin Maruca Burgy. His legacy of humor, love, and connection will continue to influence those who were blessed to know him.
A visitation will take place on February 27, 2026, from 5 PM to 6 PM, followed by a memorial service starting at 6 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. There will not be a graveside service following the memorial.
