Michael Dunn

Michael H. Dunn, 68, of Grove City, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2015. This world lost and heaven gained a good man on that day. Mike was born Dec. 20, 1946 in Portsmouth, OH. He graduated from Oak Hill HS in 1964 and remained close to many of his classmates. He loved to meet with them and reminisce. Retired from the Ohio Operating Engineers, Mike was a proud union member of Local 18. Mike was also a member of SAL Post 164, Mason's GC Lodge 0689, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and Cornerstone Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kermit Dunn; mother, Peggy Dunn; eldest son, Steve Dunn and brother-in-law, Fred Ashbaugh. Mike is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 41 years, Sherlyn; his daughter, Shelli (Matt) Dunn; son, Jason (Bobbie) Dunn; grandson, Austin Copley; sister, Judi Ashbaugh; brother-in-law, Ed (Glenda) Wheeler; sister-in-law, Karen (Shane) Circle; 3 nieces; 4 nephews; 3 great-nieces; 1 great-nephew; many cousins and dear friends.

In his partying days, Mike was the life of the party. In later years he enjoyed sitting outside in his yard, watching his birds at the feeders, enjoying his flowers, and chatting with his neighbors. Mike will be remembered as a loving, caring man with a big heart and a hearty laugh. He loved people and would start a conversation with someone wherever he would go. We will all miss his smile and his "bear hugs".

Friends may join his family for a Celebration of his life on Saturday, April 25 from 11am to 2pm at Cornerstone Christian Church, 4900 Big Run Rd. S., Grove City, OH 43123. Contributions in his memory may be made to the church he loved, listed above.
