Michael "Mike" Louis Emery, the man with a personality as big as his love for classic cars, has taken off on his final ride, leaving us behind on June 2, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on November 10, 1955, in Columbus, Ohio, Mike was the delightfully spirited son of the late Edwin and Colleen Emery. He arrived in this world ready to make his mark, and boy, did he!
Now, don’t go thinking he did it quietly. Oh no! Mike was a talker—he never met a stranger, just a friend he hadn’t chatted up yet! Whether he was sharing tales of history or showcasing his beloved Columbus through the lens of his camera, he had a knack for turning the mundane into the magnificent. His enthusiasm was positively infectious!
Sadly, along with his parents, Mike is now joined in the great adventure beyond by his brother, Eddy. But let’s put a pause on the weepy stuff because Mike wouldn’t stand for that! He would want us celebrating the life he lived and the joy he spread.
To help keep his spirit alive, he leaves behind his wonderful wife, Donna, who undoubtedly knows the thrill of being married to such a vibrant personality. Then there's his daughters—Kelly (Alex) Taylor and Nicole (Clay) Engle. They made him proud every single day! And, oh my goodness, the love he had for his grandkids: Naiomi, Raelynn, and Emmylou.
Let’s not forget about his brother, Daniel, and his nephew, Kyle, and of course his adorable great-niece, Amiela, who were all lucky enough to know the warmth of his laughter and the wisdom of his stories.
Mike had an unquenchable thirst for life—his motorcycle rides, the roaring excitement of NASCAR, music that made you want to dance, and a collection of items that told stories of their own. Wherever he went, a little piece of that zest for life traveled with him. He lived passionately, loved exhaustively, and definitely left us with more than a few unforgettable memories.
So, raise a glass, rev those engines, and blast the tunes—because Mike Emery is out there, revving up that motorcycle and racing through the highways of eternity. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit? It’s as unstoppable as he was! Ride on, Mike, ride on!
