Michael C. Jennings, Sr., 69, of Grove City, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016. He was born on May 8, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to Richard and Betty (Jennings)Higgins. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vicki Whitten.
Mike is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Jennings; children, Michael C. Jennings,Jr., Richard (Michelle) Jennings and Wendy (Bryan) Sherman; grandchildren, Michael III, Matthew, Ricky, Derrick, Cassie, Kayla, Brandon, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Kourtnee, Angela Joyce; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Patricia (Thomas) Sowecke, Mark (Yvette) Higgins, Cindy (Vince) Baker and Andy Higgins. Mike's loss will be felt deeply by many more friends, family members and neighbors too numerous to name.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the excellent team at OSU and the James Cancer Center for all of their loving care and support that Mike and his family received during his courageous battle with cancer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to cancer research at OSU/ The James Cancer Center, 1480 W. Lane Ave., Columbus, OH 43221.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.He was a truck driver and cabinet maker at Horton's for seventeen years before retiring. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held January 7, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Community of Christ Church, 1255 Stringtown Road, Grove City, OH 43123.
