Michael Richard Laemmle Jr.

Michael Richard Laemmle Jr., age 53, passed away suddenly at his home on August 21, 2026.

A lifelong resident of Grove City, Michael graduated from Grove City High School in 1991. He built a successful 23-year career in real estate as a Realtor and owner of The Mike Laemmle Team Realty, where he was recently honored to welcome his son, Ryan, into the family business. Michael took great pride in building a business that would continue into the next generation.

Michael had a heart for his community and, over the past decade, dedicated himself to helping children in need throughout the Southwestern City School District. Alongside Molly, he helped organize an effort that provided thousands of new coats to local children. Michael and Molly personally took on the work of organizing the coat drive, gathering, sorting, and delivering the coats, making sure that no child in need was overlooked. It was a reflection of who Michael was—someone who saw a need and simply stepped up to help.

A lifelong Ohio State football super fan, Michael was a proud and avid Buckeye. He loved American muscle cars, especially his beloved 2008 Corvette. From childhood, he had a passion for collecting Marvel comic books, with Daredevil holding a special place among his favorites.

Michael was also a true patriot who loved his country. Every year, he celebrated the Fourth of July with his own fireworks display—a tradition that brought family, friends, and neighbors together and became something everyone looked forward to.

Michael will be deeply missed by his parents, Mike and Sherry Laemmle; his son, Ryan Laemmle; his brother, Brian Laemmle; his niece, Emersyn Laemmle; his fiancée and best friend, Molly Heilman; and Mia Heilman, whom Michael was proud to love and support as a father figure.

He is also survived by Megan Chambers (Chris Witcher), with whom he shared a special friendship and commitment to co-parenting; the Heilman and Crum families; and many lifelong friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, and others whose lives were touched by his friendship, generosity, and love.

Michael leaves behind far more than memories. He leaves behind a family who loved him, a community he worked hard to serve, a business he was proud to build, and countless people who were better for having known him.

He will be loved, remembered, and missed more than words can express.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 to 7:00pm on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Homes - Southwest Chapel (3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123). A memorial service will immediately follow at 7:00pm in the funeral home, with Pastor Matt McCloskey officiating.
