Michael E. McMillin, affectionately known as "Mike," passed away on April 9, 2026, at Doctor's West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Born on November 22, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, Mike lived a life marked by dedication to his family, community, and country.
Mike's journey saw him serve honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he contributed as a cook, supporting his fellow soldiers with unwavering commitment. After his military service, he dedicated his professional life to the City of Columbus, working as a cableman and electrician until his retirement. His hard work and expertise were a testament to his steadfastness and integrity.
A kind and loving husband and father, Mike cherished the time spent with his family and friends. His passions extended beyond work into the great outdoors, where he found joy in fishing, hunting, and trapping—activities that brought him closer to nature and provided cherished moments of tranquility and connection.
Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Mary (Thompson) McMillin; brothers Randy McMillin and Kelvin McMillin; sons Scott McMillin and David Morrow; and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry forward his memory with love and respect. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward B. and Marion P. McMillin; brother Dale McMillin; son Michael E. McMillin II; and daughter Christine Christian.
Family, friends, and all who knew him are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on April 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. A funeral service will immediately follow on the same day starting at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Womack officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at Grove City Cemetery.
Mike McMillin’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
