Michael Grant Myser passed away peacefully at The Kobacker House on January 18, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 70.
Michael or "Mike" was a true child of the 1950's who cultivated a deep and lasting love of cowboys and baseball. The cords of his heart pulled ever west and the tokens that he collected always reminded him of that. From the simplest flint arrow head to photo books filled with snapshots of camping in the high desert, the heart of a cowboy was always there. By that same token, his love of baseball was simple and pure. He was always ready to go to a game or simply sit and talk about the latest win of his beloved Dodgers. These pleasures were always there for him during his full life.
Mike showed wisdom in knowing that real value was not found in trinkets and coins that come and go. True riches and lasting investments are those put into his family. Mike sacrificed all in the pursuit of being able to spend more time with those he cared about and his path was one that helped him do that. He was always ready to come when called and every interaction with his friends and family was locked in his heart.
Mike is survived by his sons Atticus, Jeremy, Matthew, Dane and daughter Dara; his grandchildren, Henry, Jack, Jessi, Karli, Ronni, Taylor and Tyler; his mother Mary and brothers Rick, Chuck, and Dave; as well as countless nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Willard.
Mike would have liked you to go for a hike in the woods or take in a baseball game and think of him and his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike's memory to https://wexnermedicalosu.edu/ways-to-give/myser-family. Donations will be used to find a cure for Parkinson's disease.
