Michael “Mike” Linden Reed, aged 81 of Columbus, Ohio, died February 16, 2025 of complications from COPD.
Mike was a Navy veteran who served on a destroyer during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Once back on land, he said he’d seen enough of the ocean for a lifetime and never went back. Instead, he married the love of his life and settled in to a job at Timken Company, where he played on the softball team for many years. Soon, he and his wife, Tina, had three children and a happy life in North Linden.
Mike was a man of simple pleasures - he loved watching Buckeye football and movies with his wife, playing Sorry with his grandkids, cracking dad jokes, and getting a good deal. He took care of Tina, and she took care of him, for 60 years; their love was very special to them both.
Mike is survived by his wife, Tina; daughters Donna Reed and Michelle Mason; son Michael (Meredith) Reed; grandsons Linden and Lars Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Geraldine Reed and sister Marcine.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th, 2025 from 12-1pm at Newcomer Northeast Chapel - 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH, 43231. Burial will take place at a later date.
