October 6, 1960 — June 11, 2019
Mike Barker age 58, passed away on June 11th 2019 with a rare dementia that progressed very rapidly.
Mike married his childhood sweetheart Janet in July 1984. Together they had two children. Mike owned a flooring business most of his life. He coached many years for the Georgian Heights Packers football team and proudly brought home many championships! If you knew Mike, you knew two things.. he loved his family and sports! Mike was very well known for his wide variety of sports clothing. Always matching head to toe! In 2012 Mike was given one of the best gifts he had been given, his granddaughter. The two of them shared a bond no other could imagine. To say this man will be missed does not begin to describe it. "A family is like a body. When it loses a loved one it is if they have lost one of their limbs."
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 35 years, Janet; children, Brittni (Josh) Walters and Michael Barker; granddaughter, "papa's little monster" Bryntli Sophya; special dog, Baby; mother, Louise Barker and many LOVING family and friends.
Proceeded in death by his father, Jim Barker
The family will receive guests on Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer-SW Chapel. 3393 Broadway, Grove City (614-539-4559).
