Michael "Mike" Paul Leonard

Michael "Mike" Paul Leonard, 78, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, following a devastating cancer diagnosis.

Mike was born on April 24, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio, to Paul and Mary (Rockey) Leonard. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family and enjoying the outdoors.

A faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Grove City, Mike lived a life grounded in faith, hard work, and love for those around him. He found peace and happiness in nature and cherished time spent hiking, fishing, and camping. Family vacations to Clearwater Beach created countless treasured memories that will be carried forward by those who loved him.

Mike began his professional journey with Ohio Bell, climbing telephone poles and installing telephone lines. Throughout his distinguished 50-year career, he worked for AT&T and several other telecommunications companies. Through his dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to growth, he advanced throughout his career and ultimately retired from JPMorgan Chase as a Senior Voice Engineer. Mike truly loved his work and took great pride in it, but what he valued most were the lifelong friendships he formed along the way. The colleagues who became friends remained an important part of his life long after retirement.

Mike especially enjoyed working on cars with his children, sharing not only his knowledge and skills but also creating lasting bonds and memories. He took pride in maintaining and repairing both his vehicles and his home. Known by friends, family, and neighbors as the "go-to fix-it man," Mike was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or help solve a problem. His generosity, patience, and practical wisdom touched the lives of many.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy (Norris) Leonard; his sons, Chris (Jessica) Leonard and Tom Leonard; his daughters, Debbie Wine and Mandy Leonard; his grandchildren, Gabe, Cooper, and Emerson; and his brother, Tim (Julie) Leonard; nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Leonard; his sister, Lynda (Roger) Larson; and his brother, Thomas Leonard.

Mike's legacy lives on through the love he shared, the memories he created, and the values he instilled in his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, his quiet strength, his love of nature, his strong work ethic, and the unwavering devotion he showed to those he loved.

Per Mike's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, his family will honor his life by gathering to spread his ashes at the Grand Canyon, one of the many places that held special meaning for him.

Though deeply missed, Mike's family finds comfort in the many wonderful memories they shared and in knowing that his spirit will remain with them always.
