Monetta Ann Mills Wilkins

Monetta Ann Mills Wilkins, age 89, passed away at the Woodlands of Columbus in Columbus, OH on May 22, 2021. She was a graduate of Liberty High School in Williamson, WV. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education at Bluefield State College in 1953 where she had met her future husband, John J. Wilkins. They married in November 1953 after her graduation and his basic training in the USAF. She taught elementary school for 31 years before retiring, having earned an M.Ed at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in the 1970s. Mrs. Wilkins was a lifetime member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and member of Spinning Road Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Karen Scott and her son Kerwin Wilkins, both of Columbus, OH and 3 grandchildren Jonathan D. Wilkins, Alexandra E. Scott and Rhannon M. Wilkins. She is also survived by several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
