Mr. Dan E. Hollenback, a devoted family man and respected professional, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, in Grove City, Ohio. Born on August 22, 1944, in Ashville, Ohio, he lived a life defined by kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering commitment to those around him.
A 1963 graduate of Teays Valley High School, Dan went on to serve his country honorably as a veteran of the United States Army. His time in the military was marked by dedication and courage, qualities that remained with him throughout his life. Following his service, Dan applied himself to a successful career in the HVAC industry, where he worked for many years with distinction and pride.
Those who knew him will remember Dan as a kind and gentle person, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement. He embraced life with a quiet strength that left a lasting impression on friends and family alike.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Hollenback, who stood by his side and shared in the joys and challenges of life together. Their family includes their daughter, Holly Myers; son-in-law, Neal Myers; granddaughter, Morgan Myers; and grandson, Bryce Myers. He was also a cherished brother to Connie Kuhlwein, Ronald and Mark Leatherwood, and Dick Hollenback. Among his extended family, Dan was loved by his brother-in-law, Bob (Ferne) Arnold, sister-in-law, Linda Bahnsen, and his mother-in-law, Ann Leatherwood. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and numerous good friends who held him in high esteem.
Dan’s passing follows that of his father, Gale Leatherwood; mother, Joan Johnson; mother-in-law, Joan Arnold; and father-in-law, Robert Arnold. Their memories remain a part of the foundation upon which Dan built his life.
Mr. Dan E. Hollenback’s life was a testament to loyalty, humility, and care. His contributions to his family, community, and profession will be remembered and treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know him. In honoring his memory, those he leaves behind find comfort in the legacy of love and integrity he has left behind.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Monterey Care Center and Echo Hospice for taking such great care of Dan.
Graveside services at Harrison Township Cemetery 5001 Union St, South Bloomfield, OH 43103 will be announced at a later date.
