Muriel V. Rush, age 93, went to be with her Lord from Carriage Court, Grove City surrounded by her loving family on September 18, 2013, born October 2, 1919 in Leon, West Virginia to Clinton B. Riffle and Tabitha Baker Riffle Escue. Retired in 1983 from General Motors Fisher Guide. Preceding her, along with her parents, were her loving husband George E. Rush and brothers, Walter, Everett and James Riffle and sisters, Freda Vickers Filson, Hazel Simpson Taylor and Edna (Judy) Flowers. Also preceding her, Gracie, her cat and companion of many years.
Surviving are four children, Metta (John) Swisher, Grove City, Mary L. Dean, Cross Plains, Texas, Fred Michael (Sandra) Rush, Grove City and Patricia (Ron) Spencer, Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kimberly Brown, Karen (Corbin) Wood, Jeff (Heather) Rush, Cassandra (Craig) McFarland, Jason (Jamie) Baird and Rachel Spencer along with six great grandchildren, Emily and Kamryn Wood, Gavin, Colin and Liam Rush and Shawn Baird. Muriel was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 3424 and Dodge Senior Center. Formerly resided at Lincoln Lodge Senior Residence Center, West Broad Street, Columbus.
Some of the many things she passed on to her children were the love of helping others, a great sense of humor and her smile. May that smile shine down from heaven upon us all.

Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, Friday, September 20, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, Grove City, OH. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH. Memorial donations may be directed to Gentiva Hospice.
