Olga (Argiriadou) Philiopoulos, 99, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully September 20th, 2019. She was born June 15, 1920 in Greece.
Olga left Agia Anna, Greece in June 1956 with her children and arrived in New York to reunite with her husband.
Lovingly known as Yia Yia by her grandchildren, Olga was a very independent lady. When she came to America she joined her husband working at their brother's restaurant, the Biltmore in Columbus, Ohio. She was a wonderful cook. She worked into her 90s in her grandson's chocolate shop and remained active.
Olga is preceded death by the love of her life, Nikolaos, whom she was married to for 54 years. She is survived by her daughter, Francine Cooper, her son, Georgios Philiopoulos, grandchildren Kim (Phil) Philiopoulos, Daniel Cooper & Nikolaos (April) Philiopoulos, great grandchildren Carissa, Robert, & Tyler Philiopoulos, & Skyler Cooper, great-great grandson, Micah Philiopoulos; and dear friends Christina and her mom, Pamela.
Family will receive friends from 5-8 Tuesday September 24th at the Newcomer SW Chapel 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. and then from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25th at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 555 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215 where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m.
