Orin R. Kochenderfer, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2025. Born on October 12, 1960, in Grove City, Ohio, to the late George and Charlotte Kochenderfer, Orin lived a life full of joy, laughter, and an unwavering passion for connection.

Orin was a vibrant soul, whose love for sports brought him great joy, especially as a die-hard fan of the Browns and Ohio State. His exuberance mirrored his personality; he was someone who thrived on friendships and connections. Orin famously declared, "Attitude is everything," and he lived every day with that mindset. His positivity was infectious, and his approach to life served as a shining example to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A dedicated and honest car salesman for many years, Orin derived immense satisfaction from his work. He embraced opportunities to meet new people, never meeting a stranger in his travels. His professional career allowed him to explore nearly every corner of the United States—only missing Alaska and Hawaii—while working for the Magazine Crew, an experience that enriched his life with stories and friendships.

Orin's family was his greatest pride and joy. He is lovingly survived by his children, Chelseah Braoudakis, Cecelia Hughes, Cassidy "CJ" Kochenderfer, and Coleman Kochenderfer. He shared a deep bond with his partner, Jeannie Frazier, and valued the strong relationships he cultivated with his siblings: Rita (Danny) Edwards, Judi Layne, and Esther (Dale) Cooper. Orin also held dear the mother of his children, Lacey Hughes, who remained an important part of his life.

A devoted father, Orin was deeply invested in the lives of his children, celebrating their achievements and offering unwavering support. He cherished every moment spent with family, and it is evident that they were central to his happiness. His lively spirit and positive outlook on life created countless cherished memories that will continue to resonate with those he leaves behind.

Orin's unique phrases, such as "Good and getting better" in response to heartfelt inquiries about his well-being, will forever echo in the hearts of his family and friends. His enthusiasm for life inspired everyone around him, and his signature cheer for the Dawg Pound—"WOOF WOOF WOOF!"—exemplified his larger-than-life persona.

As we celebrate Orin's remarkable life, we acknowledge the profound impact he had on anyone fortunate enough to cross his path. He will be deeply missed, but the love he shared and the positivity he radiated will stay with us forever. A dignified cremation will take place at Newcomer Funeral Home, honoring Orin's wishes. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, where all who knew him can come together to remember and honor this exceptional man.
