Oscar Artis Henderson

Oscar Artis Henderson, 80, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Whitehall Manor.
He was born April 5, 1937 in Packsville, WV, son of the late Theodore Henderson and Virginia Lawson Bloomfield.
In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by his stepfather, Harvey Bloomfield; brother, Arthur "Art", Edward "Mike", Bernard "Joe" and Azel "Whistle".
He was the frontman of Budd Henderson and the Gospel Echoes.
Oscar is survived by his wife, Betty Witt Henderson; daughter, Tonya (Dave) Schilling and Cindi (Doug) Wright; sons, Teddie Henderson and Toby (Carol Cummings) Henderson; sisters, Nedra Waugh and Kathy (Ted) Urbanik; grandchildren, Coady, Cori-Ann, Tyler, Tabitha, Kyle Sr., Stephen and Shane; great grandchildren, Nolen, Jaden and Kyle Jr.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 4:00-5:00 PM with the funeral service beginning at 5:00 PM at Steadfast Pentecostal Church, 4500 Broadway Grove City.
Interment will be in Henderson Cemetery, Olive Hill, KY on route 59.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lockbourne Rd. Baptist Church, 1673 Lockbourne Rd. Columbus, OH 43207.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City.
