Pamela Susan Bandel, 74, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2025. Born in Columbus, Ohio on May 29, 1951, Pam was a woman of spirited character who found her greatest peace in the quiet beauty of nature.
Though she was known for a delightfully stubborn and eccentric personality, Pam’s heart was defined by her devotion to those she loved. Her family remains eternally grateful for the unwavering, tender care she provided to her parents in their final years. An avid gardener, Pam spent countless hours nurturing her plants and flowers, finding a meditative joy even in the simplest task of pulling weeds. Her compassion extended to all living things, evidenced by the many rescued pets she welcomed into her home over the years.
Pam was a cherished sister to Marsha Gordon, Cheryl Cummings-Brunn (John), Susan Sale (Thomas) and Patricia Childers (Michael). She is survived by husband, Dean Bandel. She was a beloved aunt to Amie, Adam, Melissa (Steven), Jason (Kristina), Christopher, Jeremy, John, Jeffrey (Jacy), Elaina (Michael), and Zachary (Samantha). She now joins her parents, James and Norma Cummings, her brother Michael, her brother-in-law Terrance Gordon, and her nephew Sean Gordon in eternal rest.
The family expresses their deep gratitude to Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio for their compassionate care, and extends special thanks to Kathy Anderson for her care of Pam and support of Pam’s sisters.
A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, Ohio. Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m., where friends and family are invited to share stories and fond memories of Pam.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May it bring comfort to all who mourn her passing. In Pam’s memory, contributions may be made to Morrow County Dog Shelter, 115 Young Ave U.S #42, Mt Gilead, OH 43338.
