Patrick Torgerson "Torgy"

Patrick Torgerson, affectionately known as "Torgy," passed on January 30, 2026, in Columbus, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 7, 1958, in Columbus.

A proud graduate of Columbus South High School Class of 1977, Pat built his career as a custodian with Columbus Public Schools for 28 years. His impact was particularly felt at Binns Elementary, where he not only took pride in his work but also found joy in caring for the teachers and students, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Pat's warm spirit and infectious personality could light up any room. He was a hard worker, full of energy, fun to be around and always joking around. Known for his kindness and generosity toward others, he created cherished memories, whether it was through throwing vibrant fall parties or hosting musical acts like Smash Mouth. His love for music spanned many genres, and he particularly cherished the times spent reminiscing about his high school band. The dance floor was a second home for Pat, along side his twin sister Patty, beloved for their disco dancing skills that brought joy to many.

In his leisure time, Pat immersed himself in the beauty of the outdoors. He loved to hunt, tend to his immaculate lawn, and spend peaceful hours by his koi pond and firepit. His motorcycle and sandrail buggy were not just modes of transportation but symbols of his zest for life and adventure. He delighted in cooking for those around him, always finding joy in bringing people together through the shared experience of a meal.

Pat is remembered with fondness by his loving wife of 30 years, Kimberly (Hennessy) Torgerson, along with his siblings Bonnie Jean (Stephen) Deason and Patricia Lynne Blumenstock. In addition, he leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, each one carrying a piece of him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman William and Dorothy Lucille (Satterfield) Torgerson, alongside his siblings Anthony Allen Torgerson, Constance Elaine Torgerson, Herman Theodore Torgerson, John Williams Torgerson, and Ralph Owen Torgerson. Pat's legacy lives on through his family and friends, and he shall be remembered for his boundless love, unwavering strength, and the joy he brought into the lives of others.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel 3393 Broadway, Grove City on Monday March 9, 2026 from 2:30pm until time of memorial service at 4:30pm with Pastor Jeff Torgerson.
