Patty Snow Darby, 81 - beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother - passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, March 31, in Grove City, OH. Patty has been called to heaven to join her beloved husband of 57 years, James W. Darby, Sr.
Patty lived her life joyfully with the kindest and most generous heart. She was a great role model to her immediate and extended family, as well as to innumerable friends, co-workers, and fellow parishioners. She was dedicated to being the best mother and grandmother, and made her families' lives fuller by encouraging her grandchildren to work hard, follow their dreams, and use the best of manners. Following the Lord's example, Patty taught everyone to treat others as they would want to be treated. Her family brought her the greatest joy and comfort. She gave her family the greatest gifts: unconditional love, undivided attention, great memories forever imprinted on their hearts and minds, and, of course, her chocolate chip cookies.
Patty was an extraordinary woman, and led a remarkable life of boundless love, kindness, and generosity. She was an active parishioner at St. Cecilia Parish in Columbus, where made hospital and home visits to the sick and elderly, served on the Bereavement Committee, and assisted numerous families in need of shelter and nourishment. She will be missed more than words can ever express. Our hearts are forever grateful.
Patty is survived by sons James, Jr. (Julie), Michael (Becky), and Joseph (Lisa); grandchildren Tony Darby, Amaris Tirey (T.J.), Miranda Robison (Wayne), and Todd Darby (Danielle); great-grandchildren Breyana, Preston, Darby, Nina, Callie, Nolan, Layla, Kailen, Lily, Anna-Grace; sisters Ruth Latella and Shirley Scott (John); wonderful nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews; and many loving friends. Thank you to all the priests, parishioners, and staff at St. Cecilia Parish.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 9:00-11:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM, at St. Cecilia Church, 434 Norton Road, Columbus, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Mark H. Zangmeister Cancer Center, 3100 Plaza Properties Blvd., Columbus, OH 43219, where Patty received excellent care and support services. To leave a message for the family visit www.NewcomerColumbus.com.
