Paul B. Lipps, 84, of Grove City passed away peacefully at home, Saturday October 26th, 2013.
He will be most remembered for his commitment to his work and dedication to his family. A loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to hunt and fish. He retired after 28 years as a team leader from the F&R Lazarus Co. He was a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied trades, local 1275.
He was born Sept. 5, 1930, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Woodson and Virginia Lipps and was also predeceased by three sisters, Ester Stump, Pat Shaner and Connie Pearce.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shelba Jean Lipps, whom he married May 16th, 1959 at Chapel in West Columbus, Ohio; Three brothers, Kenneth Lipps (Pat) of Miamisburg, Glen Lipps (Alice) of Galloway, Woodson Lipps (Nora) of Miamisburg a sister Sandy Adams (Ted) of Grove City; Three sons, Paul B. Lipps II of Columbus, David A. Lipps of Reynoldsburg, Dale A. Lipps (Natalie) of Delaware and daughter Kimberly Hanna (Joe) of Reynoldsburg; Four grandchildren, Bryan Lipps (Karen) of Delaware, Eric Lipps of Columbus, Ian Lipps of Delaware and Caitlin Lipps of Delaware; Seven great grandchildren, Garrett Lipps, Andrew Lipps, Bryan Patrick Lipps, Kelly Hannah, Justin Hanna, Lisa Lipps and Heather Lipps. Many friends including Frank and Diane Bennett of Grove City and family pet Reese who gave him much joy and comfort the last few years.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday October 30th at Newcomer Funeral Home in Grove City. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday October 31st, at the Franklin Valley Cemetery, Jackson Ohio. The Rev. Larry Boggs will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Carmel Hospice, Columbus, Ohio.
