Paul David Barrett, 39, passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on March 29, 2016 after a courageous battle with ALS. Paul was a 1995 graduate of Hamilton Township High School, Columbus, OH and a 2001 graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He graduated from The Academy of Military Service in 2002 and served 10 years in The Ohio Air National Guard. In 2006 he joined Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, where he became a Production and Packaging Engineering Manager, before his diagnosis in August of 2013. He also earned his FAA Private Pilot rating in 2000 and Commercial Pilot rating in 2003.
He is preceded in death by father Hugh (Yo) Barrrett and grandmother Nancy Barrett.
Survived by wife Megan Barrett, children Nicholas, Carmella and Marcella, mother Debra Barrett, grandfather Paul Barrett, sister Michelle Young, brother-in-law Jim Young, niece Brittany (Sean) Stephens, nephew Blake Young, uncle Mike, aunts Cindy and Mary, great aunt Dorothy (Sheldon) O'Harra and many other family and friends.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH on Saturday from 2pm until time of service at 5pm.
