Paul Thomas Rapp, age 76, of Mount Gilead, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, with his daughters by his side.
Paul, the son of Joseph and Marjorie Rapp, built his life around the people he loved, the work he was proud of, and the open road that brought him peace. As a father, grandfather, brother, and friend, his love and quiet strength will be forever remembered.
He is survived by his daughters, Kim (Matt) Crabtree of Plain City and Kelle (Chris) Tarby of Marysville; his grandchildren, Cory (Abbey Williams) Rapp and Madison Crabtree; sister, Ellen (Bruce) Farquharson; brothers, Gary (Sally) Rapp; Larry (Mary Pelino) Rapp, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He is also survived by his loyal and constant companion, his dog Pepper.
Paul was preceded in death by his cherished granddaughter, Kyla Rapp, who remained forever in his heart and his parents, Joseph and Marjorie Rapp.
Paul enjoyed a long and dedicated career with Honda of America, from which he retired after many years of service. Early in his career, he traveled to Japan and played a role in helping start up the KTH plant—an experience he took great pride in.
An avid Harley-Davidson rider, Paul was fondly known to his grandchildren as “Grandpa Motorcycle.” He was the 'cool' grandpa and enjoyed sharing his love of motorcycles taking the grandchildren on short rides. Beyond the road, Paul found peace in nature—especially in the mountains, where the quiet beauty allowed him to feel close to God and at peace in his soul.
Paul’s gentle spirit, steady presence, and loving heart will always be remembered by those who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and his loyal companion, Pepper, who remained by his side.
Take me home, Heavenly roads. Have a great ride Dad!
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Paul's memory to the ASPCA, St. Jude or the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
