Penny Monfort

Penny Monfort December 22,1949-April 6, 2025

Penny Monfort (née Kalliantas), age 75, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, in Grove City, Ohio after a brief battle with cancer. Born on December 22, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, Penny lived a life marked by devotion to her family, faith, and creative passions.

She graduated Central High School in 1967 and married Charles R Monfort in 1972. She was deeply rooted in her faith and found strength and purpose through prayer.

Penny was married to Charles Monfort for 52 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother to their son and grandchildren.

A woman of many talents, Penny was an avid reader and expressed her creativity through baking and cross stitching. She made irresistible cookies and many elaborate Star Wars-themed cross stitched pieces for her grandchildren.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Katherine Kalliantas, her sister Helen Miller, brother in law Melvin Monfort, nephew Brock Novak and niece Lisa Carrico-Igel. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, Charles, her son Charles (Kimberly) Monfort and her grandchildren Grace, Daniel and Peter. She is also survived by her siblings Antoinette (Timothy) Curley, Stella Roberts, brother in law Glen Miller, Steve (Diane) Kalliantas, Louis Kalliantas, brother in law Mike (Linda) Monfort and sister in law Sherry Monfort. Also survived by many nieces and nephews including Chris (Lisa) Roberts, Rick (Barb) Roberts, Vincent Curley, Justine Curley, Amy Novak and Susan (Micheal) Baron and her grandnephews and grandnieces.

At Penny's request, there will be no services. Donations can be made in her memory to the Lower Lights Christian Health Center, 1066 Bellows Avenue, Columbus, OH 43223.
