Philip S. Pelok

Philip Steven Pelok Sr. passed away June 8, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio, peacefully and surrounded by his family. Born April 23, 1942 in Defiance, Ohio, he was a resident of Westerville, Ohio for more than 50 years.

Phil was always quick with a joke and was known for giving the best nicknames to those he cared about. He worked in sales and banking during his professional life and enjoyed many hobbies over the years, such as coaching youth soccer, landscaping, fishing and cheering for the OSU Buckeyes. He was proud of his Hungarian heritage and spent many hours researching his ancestry. Over the years, Phil and his wife Sandy had six Vizslas (Hungarian sporting dogs) that kept them on their toes.

Phil will be missed incredibly by his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and June Pelok, and brothers David and Larry Pelok. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandra Pelok. He is also survived by children Anne Sells (Brian), Philip Pelok Jr. (Bryn), Suzy Pelok, Troy Hamilton and Chad Hamilton (Jessica) and by his beloved Vizsla Ruby. Phil had 10 grandchildren, who he adored, and many nieces and nephews.

Phil was an active member of the Church of the Messiah United Methodist Church until his passing. We welcome those who knew Phil to join us for a celebration of life at the church, 51 N. State St., Westerville, OH 43081 on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made in Phil's name to the church.
