Ralph Eugene Alfred, 78, of Carroll, Ohio died peacefully on August 20, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born August 15, 1940 in Weston, West Virginia. Ralph spent his early years in German Village (Columbus, Ohio) where he roamed historic streets forming friendships that would last a lifetime. He retired from General Motors with over 40 years of service, though his coworkers may be credited for his tenure as he was humored by their antics.
Ralph enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle on countless adventures throughout the United States and beyond. He remembered every road and town; recounted the journeys often. He thrived on activities that brought people together, including sports and card games, as long as he was playing.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father, Harry Snyder Alfred, and mother, Lorest Glenna (Fisher) Puccetti - whom he cherished.
He is survived by five children who brought him great pride: Douglas (Mike) Alfred, Tina Alfred, Wendy (Striker) Loudermilk, Angela (Scott) Moshier and Robert (Crystal) Alfred; as well as his grandchildren Edward and Jessica Maksem, Bradley and Kyle Moshier, Nathan and Zachery Loudermilk, Jackson and Claire Alfred, great grandchild William Maksem, and Ralph's sister Judy (Jerry) Bronson. He is additionally survived by his life-companion of 16 years, Carol Disbennet and her children, Stacy Grimm and Nick Mattox, as well as her grandchildren Walker Grimm and Layne Mattox. All who were part of his life were loved and not forgotten through the years.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer's Funeral Home in Grove City, Ohio on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 4-7 pm and Friday August 24, 2018 from 10-11 am with services immediately following. Final entombment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, Canal Winchester, Ohio.
