Ralph Edward DiCarolis, 74, of Hilliard, Ohio passed away on August 14, 2025.
He was born September 21, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio and was a 1968 graduate of St. Mary's High School in German Village. Ralph worked as an auto body repairman at Jack Schmidt Oldsmobile and was a salesman for Autobody Supply Company and Finishmaster.
Ralph was a founding member of "The Emeralds", a popular local rock band during the mid to late 60's, in which he played bass. The group appeared multiple times on "Dance Party", a Columbus television show for teens hosted by Jerry Razor, played numerous events throughout Ohio, and were the opening act for the Doors, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Kenny Rogers & the First Edition, Terry Knight and the Pack, and the Blues Magoos. Years later, the group reunited, playing annually at St. Mary's homecoming festivals and at charity events.
An avid OSU football fan, Ralph was a season ticket holder for 35 years. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, listening to and playing music, bowling, and golf and earned a black belt in Taekwondo.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Rose DiCarolis.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janice (Christensen) DiCarolis; children, Lisa (Paul) DeVore, Heather Young, Nicholas (Erin) DiCarolis; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Valerie (Dave) Carey; sisters-in-law Terri (Joe) Cory and Valerie Rich (Ben Hollenback); as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association; Celebrate Life Foundation c/o Bella Care Hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice.
Friends and family are invited to gather at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
