In Loving Memory of Rebecca Lynn Wilds

December 4, 1949 – September 23, 2025

Rebecca Lynn Wilds, age 74, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025. She was born on December 4, 1949, in Ashland, Kentucky, to the late Ralph Wick Porter and Grinny (Trembile) Porter.

Rebecca was a woman of strong faith who loved the Lord deeply. She served as a dedicated Sunday school teacher, sharing her love for Christ with generations of children. Throughout her life, she worked for both the Department of Aging and the Ohio Operating Engineers, where she was known for her compassion and commitment to helping others.

She had a heart for all of God’s creatures, especially her beloved dogs. Rebecca found great joy in gardening and caring for her yard, where her love for flowers and nature was always on display. With a warm and friendly spirit, she had a gift for making friends wherever she went and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Rebecca will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 42 years, Thomas Raymond Wilds.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeniffer Murtha, and , Shane Wilds; her two cherished grandsons, Jack Michael Murtha and Maxwell Matthew Murtha; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Anthony James Repeta, Kyle Porter, Derek Porter, Norman Jr. Wilds, Eric Wilds, Shannon Pefgolizzi, Amber Clark, Brandy Laflam, Tracy Rogers, Brent Wilds, Elizabeth Myer, and Zach Myer.

She is also lovingly remembered by her adopted daughter, Michele Pennington, who held a very special place in her heart.

Rebecca was preceded in death by Thomas Wilds.

Her legacy of faith, kindness, and unconditional love lives on in all who were blessed to know her.

Family will welcome friends and loved ones on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 12:00pm at the funeral home,  followed by a graveside service at Concord Cemetery, 6224 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio, where she will be laid to rest.
