Regina (Gina) Margaret Pfeiffer, born on January 19, 1947 in Dallas Texas, passed away on Tuesday, the second of January 2018 after a brief and sudden illness.
She is preceded in death by her father Ralph Milton Ragan, her Mother Mary Margaret (Oliver) and her brother, Ralph Ragan.
She leaves behind her sister Marita Slatner of Florida, her brothers Larry(wife Mary) Ragan and Bo Ragan, many nieces and nephews, her loving husband of 33years, Gerhard (Gary) Pfeiffer, four children: daughters- Sheri McCoy, Kathy (husband Tom) Foster (Lewis), Heather (husband Steve) Slattery Woods and a son Donald Ragan. Grandchildren: Ronald Radcliff, Christian and Devon Slattery, Brooke Krischak (Lewis), Trevor and Ryan Lewis and great grandchildren; Mia, Jay and Lucy Radcliff, Aiden Bolte, and Evan Woods.
And MANY friends that were like family.
All who knew her, knew she had an incredible work ethic.
In 1981 after obtaining her business administration degree, she began working at DeVry University (formerly Ohio Institute of Technology) as an administrative assistant.
There she met Gary, the love of her life.
Shortly after their marriage, she secured a position with The City of Upper Arlington.
She began her career there in the Streets department, but later moved to the Fire Department where she made some incredible lifelong friends.
She retired from the city of Upper Arlington in 2005, but because of her love of helping people she continued to work.
She held a variety of health related positions, until she retired from the OSU Wexner Medical Center in November 2017.
Gina (affectionately referred to by her children as The Queen) loved her family and friends with reckless abandon.
She lived her life to the fullest – she was compassionate, caring, supportive and gave 110%..
She loved flowers, music, to laugh, to be surrounded by those she loved and chocolate!
A good measure of her love is reflected by the countless friendships she fostered and the amazing impact she made on whomever she came in contact with.
As said perfectly by a former boss/great friend, "She bloomed wherever she was planted".
Gina was a consummate cook and baker and spread so much happiness with her delicious treats.
She never missed an opportunity to make someones day brighter. Her light was always beaming.
An old Irish saying says:
May God grant you many years to live,
For sure HE must be knowing.
The earth has angels all too few,
And heaven is overflowing.
One of those few angels has left this earth, and heaven continues to overflow.
Everyone who knew Gina will miss her immensely, but will hold her in their hearts forever.
