Rev. Peter Sauls

Ralph Peter Sauls, age 81, departed this life on February 11,2017. He was born on April 27, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to Rev. Louis and Mattiel Olivia Watson Sauls. He graduated from Edward Bok Vocational Technical school where he studied mechanics. He went on to serve in the US Air Force. He was employed at Rockwell and later retired from the United Parcel Service after more than 25 years of employment. He was an ordained minister and served as Associate Pastor at Jerusalem Second Baptist Church in Urbana, OH. Later he was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Columbus, OH.
He is preceded in death by his father Rev. Louis Sauls, mother Mattiel Sauls, brother Louis Sauls Jr., Aunt Bertha McLean, Aunt Fannie Wright, Uncle Ralph Watson and great granddaughter Jamiya Almon.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years Joyce DeLoatch-Sauls, sons Deland (Sharon) Sauls of Gahanna, OH and Leland Sauls of Columbus, OH; daughters Notasha (Will) Fant of Pataskala, OH, Keisha Sauls and Rosa Sauls both of Columbus, OH; granddaughters Letrese Sauls, Mikiah Fant, and Bella Sauls; grandsons Leland Sauls II, Chad (Abby) Sauls, and Brandon (Laura) Sauls; great grandchildren Jzakari and Journei Almon; brothers Nathaniel Sauls of New York, Bernice Sauls of New York, and Samuel Sauls of Columbus, OH; special friends Rev. Joel and Nancy King Jr., Deacon Homer Barnes, Alden and Janet Coleman, George Hurt, and Dr. Richard and Dr. Barbara Kelsey.

Visitation hours will take place on Friday, February 17 from 11-12 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231.

Services will follow immediately after.

Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
