Rex Campbell, a devoted father and Papa passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, in Worthington, Ohio. Born on December 2, 1949, in East Liverpool, Ohio. Rex was a friend to many, accomplished athlete, and a dedicated youth baseball coach.

Rex grew up in East Liverpool and was a proud graduate of Beaver Local High School in 1968. From an early age, his exceptional talent in sports became evident. Excelling in football, baseball, and basketball, Rex earned Division 1 scholarship offers in all three. In 1968, he was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 15th round of the Major League Baseball draft. He went on to play both basketball and baseball at Youngstown State University.

Rex was an avid hunter and golfer. He cherished watching his grandson, Carson Campbell, play baseball. The bond they shared over the sport was a source of great pride and happiness for Rex.

Rex is survived by his son, Ryan Campbell, and daughter-in-law, Kara Campbell, as well as his beloved grandson, Carson Campbell. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Kay Campbell, who he cherished.

Rex Campbells legacy is one of dedication, athletic excellence, and heartfelt devotion to family. His impact will be fondly remembered by those who knew him as a passionate athlete, a caring coach, and a loving family man. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and contributions remain a lasting tribute to a life well lived.
