Rhonda Kay Forsythe, affectionately known as Nana, passed away on August 29, 2025, just days short of her 64th birthday. Born on September 6, 1961, she was a remarkable woman who filled the lives of her family and friends with joy and laughter.
Rhonda was a family woman through and through. She was very giving, funny, outgoing, outspoken, and unfiltered. Rhonda’s proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her universe. Her spirit shone brightly in every gathering, and her laughter was infectious.
Rhonda had a passion for spending time with her mother, Wanda Underwood. She also enjoyed thrift shopping and had an affinity for true crime shows, particularly "Keeping Up with Appearances." Her hobbies brought her pleasure and connected her to those she loved.
Rhonda leaves behind a loving family that includes her mother, Wanda Underwood; her daughter, Clarissa Forsythe; her sons, Shawn (Lisa) Forsythe and her daughters, Ciarra Forsythe, Shalena Forsythe, Heaven Freeman, Nevaeh (Zay) Freeman. She was a proud grandmother to Anthony, Zaylia, Kimberly, and Jonna, who will carry fond memories of their Nana. She also leaves behind her sisters, Tina Marcum and Dawn (Terence) Byrd, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Underwood; brothers Michael Joe Forsythe, Jamie Forsythe, Jeffery Forsythe, and Rodney Forsythe; and brother-in-law Clinton Marcum.
Visitation will be held on September 4, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service that starts at 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. Rhonda’s presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.
