Richard Collin, Sr

April 23, 1928 — June 19, 2016

Richard " Dick" L. Collin, Sr., 88, from Columbus, Ohio residing in Sandusky, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 19, 2016. He was born on April 23, 1928 to Arthur and Edith ( Hensel) Collin. He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Gary Heath Cordial.

Richard is survived by his children, Richard L. (Kathy) Collin, Jr, Rebbecca (Gary) Cordial and Anita ( Leon) Kirby; sister, Joan Danneman; grandchildren, Joseph ( Tiffany) Collin, Heather (Ben) Fosskuhl, Katie (Josh) Smith, Crystal (Michael) Hershberger and great-grandchildren, Seth Cordial, Zachary Collin, Kalissa Fosskuhl, Keegan Cordial, Brayden Hershberger, Griffin Hershberger, Collin Smith and Molly Hershberger; stepchildren, Chuck McCormick, Renotta Oliver, Jim McCormick and Susan Green; nieces and nephew, Sandy Danneman, John Danneman and Kelley Davidson. The family would also like to thank special friends from the Ohio Veteran's Home, Larry and Jeff for all of their care and friendship to their father.

Richard was an avid fisherman who loved to fish at Lake Erie. He was a WWII veteran. He served in the Army Air Corps at Fort Pepperell, Newfoundland until 1949 where he was then in the Army Reserves until 1953. He was a member of Amvets, the VFW and the Moose lodge.

The family requests that donations be made to the Ohio Veteran's Home, 3416 Columbus Ave.,Sandusky, Ohio 44870.

A graveside service at the Veterans Cemetery in Sandusky, Ohio is pending.
