Richard E. Batteiger, 76, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in Columbus, OH. He was born on January 6, 1940 in Columbus to Edward and Mary Batteiger.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, David (Jacqueline) Batteiger, Jennifer Batteiger, and Thomas Batteiger; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Isabella Batteiger; siblings, Gloria (Gene) Wedemeyer and Ronald Batteiger; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.
Richard graduated from Central High School in 1958. After which, he served in the United States Army where he was honorably discharged in 1965. He then attended college at Franklin University where he graduated with his Electrical Engineering Degree. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43231 followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Lung Association, www.lung.org.
