Richard E. Marsh
March 20, 1933 — February 23, 2014
Richard E. Marsh, 80, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born in Tarentum, PA on March 20, 1933, to the late Elmer B. and Marie (Hartzell) Marsh.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years. Martha (Burchett) Marsh; daughter, Linda Martin; son, Ric (Marguerite) Marsh; wife's children, Dewana (Dan) Gillespie and Michael (Ramona) Terry; grandchildren, Wesley, Cody and Ashley Gillespie; canine companion," Odie" and many many friends.
Richard served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a Prisoner of War for 3 years. He then worked as a carpenter and was a member of Carpenter Local #200. He was an avid fisherman, diehard Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame football fan.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, February 28, 2014, 2-4 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home. NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the funeral service at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kobacker House, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214.
