Richard Ellsworth Speer, Jr.

Richard Ellsworth Speer, Jr., 65 of Columbus, passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on October 25, 2015. Born on August 6, 1950 to the late Richard Ellsworth and Doris (Williamson) Speer in Marietta, OH. Richard served his country during the Vietnam Era with the U.S. Army. Retired from AEP after 35 years. Richard loved to be outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. Survived by wife of 44 years Deborah (Jordan) Speer, children Richard Ellsworth Speer, III and Dineen Speer, grandchildren Shanece Speer, Alexis Speer, Nia Speer, Richard Ellsworth Speer, IV, Isabella Speer, Michael Speer, Journey Lane-Speer and Randall Speer, siblings Brian Speer, Rebecca Speer, Peggy Stewart and Robert Speer, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by sister Donna Speer.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 5 until time of service at 7pm.
