Richard Clifford Graham, age 86 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Summit Trace Healthcare Center. Richard was born on October 18, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a graduate of East High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After leaving the armed forces he worked as a Bellhop for the Deshler-Hilton Hotel where he met Virginia M. Walker. Later, they were married and raised four children together. Richard left the employment of the Deshler-Hilton Hotel to work as a Skycap for the Columbus International Airport (now known as the John Glenn Columbus International Airport). After moving to Pittsburgh, PA he worked at the Pittsburgh International Airport. He eventually transferred to the St. Louis Lambert International Airport in St. Louis, MO where he retired.
After retiring he traveled a lot and enjoyed spending time with his family and longtime friends. He had a passion for animals and was very fond of his mother's dog Whitey and her pup Howey. During the many transitions and trials of life Richard learned to put his faith and trust in God.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ida Graham, his brother Harold Lee Graham, his sister Wanda Meadows, his daughter Diana Walker, and his niece Linda Meadows. Those left to cherish his memory include his son Richard H (Stacy) Graham, his daughters Priscilla Graham and Sandra Graham, his niece Carol Meadows and his ex-wife Virginia Graham. Richard was blessed with eight grandchildren Richard Walker, Tyrone Graham, Whitney Allen, Tasherah Thomas, Ebony White, Titus Thomas, Sherron Kenley and Simone Kenley. His is still Truly loved and cherished and will be missed by all.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH on Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 12:00pm until time of service at 1:00pm with Pastor William Joseph officiating. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
