Richard A. Nordloh, a man whose kindness and intellect touched many lives, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Grove City, Ohio. Born on March 5, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Richard’s life was marked by dedication, compassion, and a quiet strength that resonated deeply with all who knew him. Notably, he passed away on his father’s birthday, a poignant reminder of the unbreakable bonds of family that defined his life.

Richard's journey began in Cincinnati, where he was raised by his beloved parents, Albert Nordloh and Dorothy (Overman) Nordloh. Though his parents have since passed on, their legacy undoubtedly lived on through Richard's gentle nature and steadfast values. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sue Winstell, and brothers-in-law Robert Winstell and David Wallace.

A man of remarkable intellect, Richard pursued higher education with great passion, earning his master’s degree from the University of Xavier. His career was as varied as it was impactful. As a young man, he served with dedication as the staff psychologist at the Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Rehabilitation Center, touching lives and offering support where it was most needed. Later, he moved into Corporate America, where he excelled as the Director of Human Resources, guiding and nurturing the careers of countless individuals. Never one to truly retire, Richard brought his expertise to the IRS after stepping away from corporate life, continuing to serve with commitment and precision.

Beyond his professional achievements, Richard was a man of many passions. He found joy in hiking through nature’s quiet beauty, in the rhythms and melodies of music, and photography. Whether attending concerts at the zoo or immersing himself in the grandeur of the opera, his appreciation for culture was profound. He was an active member of the Civil War Round Table, when he lived in Northern, Ohio, and became involved in the greater Milford Area Historical Society, once he moved back home. He was also active in St. Vincent DePaul Society and active member of the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, KY . He enjoyed golfing and was an avid reader. He also cherished the peaceful moments at home, where he found comfort and contentment.

Richard is survived by the love of his life, his wife Luanne (Hucle) Nordloh, to whom he was married for 45 years—a bond filled with enduring love and mutual respect. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Joyce Beller and Carol Wallace, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, carry forward his memory and the stories of a man who gave so much to those around him. We can't forget Cesar the dog, who was beside him when he passed.

Richard A. Nordloh’s legacy is one of love, intellect, and unwavering kindness. His presence was deeply felt, and his caring spirit shone brightly in all facets of his life. As we say goodbye, we reflect on the profound impact he had—quiet, steady, and everlasting—leaving behind a world that is undeniably better for having known him.

Mass will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 11:00am with Father Patrick Toner officiating at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St. Lewis Center, OH 43035, in the chapel.
